Interior Painting
Interior Painting requires more skills than just applying paint. Thorough planning and careful preparation is essential to achieve the very best results.
The new generation of acrylic paints now produced by manufacturers are as durable as oil paints but dry at a much quicker rate and are also kinder to the environment. This is especially important in the interior painting. The most significant benefit of the acrylic paints is the reduced odor, which results in minimal disruptions to your family’s lifestyle
We apply at least two coats of paint to all surfaces during the interior painting process. After choosing the colour you'll need to select a finish. Usually, ceilings are painted with a flat finish whilst bathrooms, kitchens and utility rooms are painted with semi-gloss as it is more durable and easier to clean. Walls in the other parts of the house can be painted in other finishes. The most popular interior painting flat finish is eggshell, however, special finishes such as pearl and satin add a certain beauty to the finished product
Interior Painting Includes:
- Using dropsheets and masking tape to cover all floors, hardware and furniture
- Removing and protecting:
o all electrical outlet covers, switches, curtains and blinds
o all nails from walls
o all flaking paint, dirt and debris from walls and skirtings. - Repairing holes and filling cracks
- Sanding all paint work prior to applying the first coat
- Priming when required
- Applying a minimum of 2 coats of paint
- Cleaning the areas effected by interior painting
Exterior Painting
Exterior painting is a necessary part of any house’s finish. Professionally completed exterior painting work can add significant value to a house and protect it from different weather extremes.
The most important part of any exterior painting job is a careful surface preparation. Taking the necessary time for the preparation and then using the highest quality paints are crucial for achieving a long lasting paint job.
Exterior Painting Includes:
- Evaluating Existing Conditions:
o Examining the entire surface of your house - looking for problems such as peeling paint, open joints or seams, wet or rotted wood, mildew (black or grey spots), and other potential issues - Removing loose, peeling or flaking paint.
- Priming bare wood
- Patching damaged wood:
o We use an exterior filler compound or, for larger damaged areas, a two-part body filler to repair any holes or damaged wood. - Gapping:
o Usually the previous paint film peels or flakes most often near joints or between similar materials. This is because water seeps into cracks and soaks into the wood. We gap all the joints, ensuring a lasting paint job. - Removing or carefully protecting light fixtures.
- Cleaning the areas effected by exterior painting.
